Dave opened his front door quite quickly, seeing the last person he wanted to see right now. “What are you doing here?”, he said to the little bit drunk boy.

Blaine sighed, he didn’t need to hear anything so rude right now, but he had something to talk with Dave, he was so worried. “Kurt, is he here?”, he had already tried by the phone with Rachel, Mercedes, and of course, Kurt’s father, Burt suggested Karofsky’s house as a last option, since his son was spending more time with Dave in the last three months than with anyone else besides Blaine.

He looked to the drunk boy, swallowed saliva slowly, “N-no, what? Why would he be here? What did you do?”, he tried to sound normally but also rude, whatever was necessary to make that guy go away.

Forget it…”, Blaine turned around, going straight to his car, while Dave closed the door, going to his couch. He sat by the side of the crying cute boy, grabbing his hand again, natural instinct.

Kurt didn’t think twice before coming to Dave’s house, he knew his dad or his other friends could comfort him, but not like that big boy, he was the only one who knew about Kurt going to the gay bar, and he wouldn’t like to explain it to anyone, he had already a lot of problems.

I-it was him, right?”, he didn’t stop his cry since he went out of the bar, he was in Dave’s house for ten minutes, enough for receiving several hugs and for telling why he was there, at least most of it, till Blaine showed up, making Kurt feel worst, not only because of hearing his voice again, but also because he made Dave go away from him, what, in the actual situation, was not okay even for some seconds and just two or three meters of distance.

The first two minutes in the house was only Kurt crying insanely and Dave surprised, shocked and concerned hugging him, warm strong arms and chest where Kurt stayed until he felt better, not totally, but enough for be able to talk again. Then he told Dave, some tears still falling, the rest were consumed by the warmth of Dave’s body against him.

He told in the best way he could. It started when him and Blaine went to the Scandals, invited by Sebastian who said something about meeting a new-old friend, what they only understood after seeing Rory, totally drunk, shirtless, dancing with a also drunk Sebastian. While Kurt was wanting to ask the Irish or the Warbler about basically how they met and how Rory ended there, Blaine was already starting to drink and dance, just smiling, not a bit concerned about anything else then having fun. Kurt gave up, going to the dance floor, with the music that high and the boys drunk he wouldn’t ever get answers, so better enjoying his boyfriend, since now Sebastian had someone else to flirt with.

Tis the season to be naughty

Kurt opened his eyes slowly, taking in the dim light in the bedroom and the warmth of his bed. The December air outside was cool, but not cold – it was LA after all. He had been living here since August, when he had moved in with Dave to the tiny apartment they now shared in the heart of the city. It was a bit expensive once one considered the size of it, but its location was very convenient, close to both Dave’s and his colleges. Kurt focused his studies in the arts, obviously, while Dave enjoyed his football scholarship and experimented with a load of different subjects, trying to decide what to do with the rest of his life – not that he was in any hurry, by what Kurt could tell. Kurt attended at a coffee shop in his scarce free time. It didn’t pay well, but it was what he could fit in his schedule, and it helped with the expenses. They still needed the help of both sets of parents, but they wanted to do as much as they could to sustain themselves. It had been tricky at first, living together. They had been dating for six months and Kurt’s father was less than pleased by the news, but Kurt had assured him that he knew what he was doing (with a lot more certainty than he actually felt). It had taken them a few weeks to adjust to each other, habits and pet hates and just domestic things in general that Kurt really thought should come with a manual. They were fine now, over four months later – still learning, forever adjusting, but getting to know and love each other more with each passing day.

Dave’s a little drunk. He’s not even drunk, he’s, like—buzzed? Buzzed. Whatever, he’s this side of a six pack, he’s fine. He’s at home and it’s a party. He can be buzzed.

Even aside from the beer, Dave’s feeling no pain; new school, new team, new start. Carmel’s football team isn’t that great, but that meant he made the team first try; Vocal Adrenaline’s success makes bullying them ridiculous, so there’s no shadow of his former habits hanging over his head. His new coach rides them just as hard as Bieste did. He’s been so instantly liked—not feared, liked—that it’s him, The New Guy, throwing the Halloween party this year.

And Kurt Hummel is at his party.

They’ve been Facebook friends since their run-in at Scandals; Kurt hasn’t been back and they haven’t talked or anything, but Dave keeps track of Kurt’s status. He seems… sadder, kind of, and his smile looks more strained in every photo.

That strained smile, that’s Dave’s excuse for clicking Invite. Fuck it. Kurt could ignore it, could bring his asshole boyfriend, could show up and out him in front of everyone, but whatever he did, he wouldn’t be smiling like that. Like smiling makes him tired. The Might Attend had been nice. Then he showed up at Dave’s door, no boyfriend in sight, and Dave thought his heart was gonna beat out of his chest.

He regrets nothing. Most of the team are here, all their girlfriends, some cheerleaders, even some glee club kids. His house is full of people who think he’s cool or like his beer enough not to care, and Kurt Hummel is in his house, watching Dave be popular and well-liked. This is awesome.

Dave didn’t know how he ended up on the Hummel’s porch just as the sun was beginning to warm slightly, but he believed most of the blame lay with his boyfriend. He was shivering despite his jacket buttoned up to the top and a thick scarf was wrapped around his neck. He also had gloves but had taken one off to press the tiny button for the doorbell. The chime went off and Dave winced at its volume.

The hallway light flicked on and the door was pulled open. Dave hurriedly pulled his glove back on to retain some warmth on that chilly December morning, and was surprised when Burt stepped out. The man still scared the crap out of Dave despite having dated Kurt for two years.

“Morning Burt,” He said nervously.

“Hi Dave,” Burt replied, looking Dave up and down, “Kurt will be out in a sec, something about his hair.”

“Cool,” Dave said and scuffed his shoe on the concrete porch.

“Where are you taking Kurt?” Burt asked, seemingly interested but Dave knew better.

“I’m taking David actually,” Kurt’s voice came from behind Burt in the hallway, “Dad, you know we’re going to Columbus, and we definitely won’t be back till late—if I can push shopping out that long.”

“A little early to be going shopping,” Burt commented looking between the boys as Kurt made his way out on the porch.

“Dad, please,” Kurt huffed, “I’m twenty, I’m a college student and I have a steady boyfriend. It’s not like I’m going out to drink at seven in the morning.”

“Fine, I’m staying out of it,” Burt held his hands up and Kurt hugged him around the middle.

“Bye Dad.”

It was a cool morning in early June and Dave was just getting into work. He saw that his foreman was already there and had opened up for the day. He stepped into his office and started returning phone calls. He had worked at this place for over ten years, starting the summer he had graduated from high school and had worked his way up. Just then, he heard the door to the store open and he went to greet the first customer of the day.

In walked the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. It was also someone he hadn’t expected to see; it was Kurt freaking Hummel.

He cleared his throat and Kurt looked up from a piece of paper in his hand. Kurt looked back at his paper and headed down one of the aisles.

“Can I help you with something, sir?”

“No, David. I’m just here for an oil filter and a socket wrench. My dad is helping me fix my car.”

“Oh, well, if you need anything just let me know.”

Dave leaned against the counter and watched Kurt look at various socket wrenches, not failing to notice how hot he had gotten over the years.

Happy (Very Belated) Christmas to: [I’m a terrible mod, really. This is one of the fics where we asked someone to request something, in the case of someone dropping out. So! If you recognize this prompt as yours, make sure you take appropriate steps to thank the author.]

You requested: Dave and Kurt in a domestic setting; Kurt being like a housewife, with either cooking or cleaning, and Dave coming in with a briefcase, in a suit and tie. Child to be present or not is up to the gift giver, but if so, preferably a boy.

It was 5 o’clock on a Wednesday evening, and Kurt was making his way across the house, dusting couches and wiping tables, all while singing along to the music that played from his iPod dock, shaking his hips and twirling when a particularly good song came on shuffle.

Entering the living room he and Dave shared upstairs, Kurt let a grin spread across his face, and chuckled at the thought of smiling at a mess. Most people would groan at the thought of spending the entire day cleaning a house, but Kurt wasn’t most people. Kurt thoroughly enjoyed cleaning- it gave him a sense of satisfaction, accomplishment, and he basically liked to be in charge; what better way than to maintain an entire household? Picking up cushions that had been strewn across the room because of his pillow fight with David, Kurt thought about the stereotype most people would put him under. Kurt didn’t think he belonged to a stereotype; being into cleaning didn’t make him anymore feminine than most people assumed him to be. In fact, the need Kurt felt to have an orderly and clean house was very male. Shaking his head, Kurt let the thought leave his head. Stereotypes were ways for people to judge, and Kurt didn’t need anyone’s unfair judgment; what he needed, was to clean this room so that he could get on with dinner.

Kurt had seen the movies where the naive young girlfriend (or boyfriend, in his case) travelled hours to surprise their boyfriend only to find them in the arms of someone else, but he got on the bus anyway. He and Dave had been apart for almost five months and while there had been Skype dates and phone calls that lasted hours, Kurt wasn’t sure how much longer he would make without being able to kiss Dave, to wake up in his arms and get that feeling that everything was going to be alright.

They were in their second year of college, Kurt at Tisch and Dave at Johns Hopkins. New York and Baltimore. One hundred and ninety three miles apart, and the distance was starting to take its toll, despite their promises that it wouldn’t. They’d had plans to spend winter break together, but at the last minute one of Kurt’s professors approached him with an opportunity he couldn’t refuse.

So Kurt spent the first two weeks stuck in New York as an understudy to the understudy for an Off Off Broadway play. It was worth it when, in the second to last show, both the main actor and his understudy caught the flu that was going around. Kurt blamed Rachel and the vitamin regimen she convinced him to follow for his impeccable health, but to actually be on a stage and to see those people watching him - it was what he had been working for his whole life. And it was made even better by the knowledge that he would be going home in just a few days to see Dave.

David,” Kurt drawled out, inspecting his fingernails. “Can you please just come out?”

Dave quickly peeked out from behind the curtain. “Kurt!” He said eyeing him dramatically, and pretending to look around.

Kurt looked at Dave’s face and burst out laughing. “I meant out of the changing area, not the closet,” Kurt squeezed out in between bouts of laughter. “You’ve been in there for like five minutes!”

“Looking this good takes time, fancy,” Dave said sliding the curtain back in place as Kurt rolled his eyes.

“Just admit you don’t want to wear what I picked out,” Kurt said loudly.

“No no, I do. I just. What if it, you know, doesn’t look that good?” Dave said quietly.

“It will definitely look good. Believe me, I know my stuff, I look fabulous on a daily bases” Kurt said, a smile playing at his lips.

Blaine did not understand much about courtship despite being a prince and a well sought after one at that. He and his intended, Lord Smythe, had a very simple and direct courtship in which they declared their intentions to one another outright. There were no games and there was no playing around with emotion. Others were not like he and his dear Sebastian however. He did not understand in any way, shape or form how his best friend and closest companion Kurt Hummel, son of the wealthy merchant Burt Hummel, could not see that he was being courted.

He was being courted very subtly by his father’s guard Lord Karofsky. The young man was spending much time around Kurt, so much time, in fact, that Blaine suspected something before the courtship began. He started leaving flowers at the young man’s door, casting him longing looks and Blaine even knew that Lord Karofsky had spoken to Burt Hummel about his intentions. Why was Kurt so very oblivious?

“Kurt, are you being courted by anyone?” Blaine asked, nervous about how Kurt would react to the question. Kurt detested the fact that arranged marriages occurred left and right in the kingdom and was very stubborn in his denial. “I was just wondering, considering that you are considered one of the most eligible gay men in this kingdom. You should have offers coming left and right.”

Kurt turned considerably red at that. Kurt also hated talking about matters of love and marriage. If Blaine wasn’t a prince, he probably would have been at the end of one of Kurt’s infamous biting insults. “I have people looking at me, my Lord,” he said quickly, addressing Blaine formally, even though they usually did not resort to such customs when they were by themselves. “I am ignoring them, however, because I have my own intended.”

“Who is he?” Blaine asked simply. He knew most of the gentlemen in the kingdom who would be considered suitable mates to Kurt. He wondered if it was that young Evans man, although his recent family situation would make him of a considerably lower status than Kurt. That would not be looked upon very well. Blaine also assumed that he was in love with one of the ladies of the kingdom. “I must know him, correct?”

Kurt turned bright red. “You do not Blaine,” he said quickly. “He is above my station in life, therefore I will not tell you.”

“Who could be above you?” Blaine asked, frowning because that meant that his intended was in fact not Lord Karofsky. Kurt’s father was one of the most wealthy merchants in the kingdom and the only people above Kurt’s social standing were Lords and Kings.

“I am not telling you.”
